Step 1. Purchase new PC
Step 2. Load full of programs, Windows updates, mp3's, photo's etc etc
Step 3. Rip open and add 2nd hard drive with backup software on it
Step 4. Install 3rd hard drive for Ubuntu 7.04 (all good so far)
Step 5. Ubuntu 7.04 doesn't load after dual boot installation...Grrrrr
Step 6. Try again, this time Ubuntu stops after clicking install (blood pressure starting to rise)
Step 7. Find older copy of Ubuntu 6.06 and install.....works, maybe 7.04 is a dud cd
Step 8. Install 7.04 again from second cd (have 3 copies)...freezes again after clicking install
Step 9. Install SUSE 10.1, installs ok, reboot freezes again.....getting pissed off now.
Step 10. Try to install 3rd Ubuntu cd, again it freezes before install.
Step 11. Major stress now, error on grub boot loader. Can't boot to XP at all.
Step 12. Try and fix XP boot loader using Windows cd. (doesn't work...ARGH)
Step 13. Brainstorm, rip out linux hard drive, switch jumpers on other 2 drives and install XP on smaller drive
Step 14. Success! able to access original XP drive and burn a backup DVD
Step 15. Tear out smaller hard drive, format, partition and install Xp on original drive again....not happy now, takes ages
Step 16. Try linux hard drive in separate pc.....it's stuffed...rip out and throw in bin
Step 17. Try again to load Ubuntu 7.04 on a partition of new hard drive, all 3 cd's sent to me by Ubuntu fail to load at all. ARGH...my veins in my head are now ready to explode!
Step 18. Throw Ubuntu cd's in the bin, take 2 panadol for headache, go to bed and try to download Ubuntu.iso file tomorrow.
How many email addresses do you have? What are they for?

Ummm, let me see. I have 1xPOP3, 2xGmail, 1xYahoo, 2 for my website...that makes 6 all up.
Today my Ubuntu CD's arrived. I am going to give Linux another try (seriously this time). I have Freespire Linux running on my old P3 Dell but I will wait for a week or two before I install Ubuntu, all depends on when my main PC up and running again with some new bits installed. I am going to dual boot this time and probably still use XP (thinking about getting Vista though) as my main OS until I get the hang of using linux.
How many TVs do you have in your house?
We have 5 TVs in our house. The 2 main TVs have Pay TV connected to them, 1 is in the bedroom, another in the computer room and then we have a small battery powered TV that can go anywhere.
What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Well I have to says when it comes to ice cream my taste is pretty boring. Plain old chocolate is my favorite but, I don't mind coffee flavors either.
I have just spent the best part of the day on Camstreams. Watching and listening and chatting with all types of people. I highly recommend Blogs Roadhouse if he is online. Rock and blues streaming and great people to chat with. They were even taking requests....lol.
I have been sitting here for nearly one hour trying to figure out how to add a link to My Groups like other people have. I can't for the life of me see where to do it. I must be missing something or my eyesight is going.
My laptop is dead!!! Looks like the water did get into it. I knew it had plenty of charge and tried it today. All was ok for about 10 minutes then "ZAP" total shutdown, screen gone black, power off etc etc. I'm not even going to attempt to turn on my other stuff now.
Heaps of insulation has been removed from the ceiling. It was soaking wet. I have installed another down pipe so the problem never happens again. (Couldn't wait on the insurance company to do it as more rain is on the way) Note: Make sure all your gutters run downhill towards the drains, not backwards so they fill up with water and enter the ceiling!

on I discovered Camstreams
